Hanging out

Rin was sitting on a bench in the park,he didnt really have any jobs to do at the moment so he just sat there and admired the scenery.

The trees were full of lucious green leaves,
The sky cloudless with the full moon gleeming down upon him.
The crickets were playing their tune as
the owls and bats sung their song.
*sigh*
"What a nice night."

Aveira was asleep in one of the trees in the park. She had wanted to get close to the moon, so she was on one of the highest branches. She shifted a little in her sleep, causing leaves and small branches to break off and fall to the ground below.

He rushed over and caught her,"I got you."He smiled.
"Lucky I was here when I was,huh?"

She opened her eyes. "Hi Rin," she murmered sleepily. "When did you get here?"

"I've been here.What about you?"

Aveira yawned, still in his arms. "I climbed up that tree and then fell asleep."

"Then you fell and I caught you."
Rin smiled and looked deep in her eyes.
"Didnt I say that Id be your knight?"

"Thank you Rin," She said, smiling up at him. Trees are fun to climb, but I don't think I like falling out of them. Unless you're there to catch me of course!"

Still smiling and loking deep in her eyes,he replied,
"I'll always be there to catch you."

She smiled and snuggled closer to him. "'Kay." She thought for a moment. "Do you have a job for a living? I know some vampires prefer to work for money, and I was wondering if you were one of them."

Just then an extreame look of
depression came over his face and
he looked up at the sky to try and hide it.
"I'd rather not say..."

"Why? You can tell me anything, you know." Aveira was confused as to what could possably be so depressing about his job.

"Sure you really wanna know?"
He asked,still looking away hiding his depressed expresion.

"Yes! Surely it can't be that bad."

"Alright....If its that important to you....
He looked down in her beautiful eyes,
still with the terribly depressed look on his face.
Tears almost came to his eyes as he replied,
"Im...Im a.....Im a hunter...."

Her mind went blank. "W-what kind of hunter?" she asked quietly.

Tears came to his eyes now.
"Im....A.........slave hunter..."

/please dont leave me!I need you!I love you!/
he thought to himself.

So it was just a game, then. I see....
"Oh. I understand. Please let me down now, Rin-sama," she said, voice not betraying how crushed she felt.

"Nooooooo!It wasnt a game!There never was a game!
The truth is.....I LOVE YOU,AVEIRA!
I always loved you.I need you.
Dont leave me!
I was a slave,Now Im a hunter!But,
didnt you notice that ever since you and I met,I havent been out?!"
Tears were pouring from his face,as he spoke the truth.
"I love you my wife,my love.
I promised that I would always protect you.
I wont go back!I love you!"

She couldn't forgive him this easily. Just because she loved him doesn't mean that he could justify selling people's very lives for profit just by apologizing to her.

"Arigato gozaimasu for your kind words, Rin-sama. Please put me down now," she said, using very polite speech and adding -sama to his name. She wouldn't cry in front of him. She was too upset for tears, anyway. Her sadness wasn't the all-consuming deppression that happened when you break up with someone close to you; no, this was the raging emptiness of finding out that the person who you thought was your soulmate was really your enemy. Her heart wasn't broken, merely gone completely. And no apologies could fix it. Her emotion ran too deep for tears, yet she wanted to be able to cry, to pour out her sadness until she felt better. But she had made the mistake of forgetting her place. In the end he was a hunter, a master, someone with power. And she was just a slave. Nothing more, nothing less.

"Listen!Im not going to put you down until you understand!"
He pulled her close and hugged her tight,crying on her shoulder.
"Im not a real hunter!
Its hard to explain.Just please!Listen to me!Please...!"

"Hai, Rin-sama. I am listening."

"Thank you..."He held her close just at the thought that he may
lose the only one he has ever loved.
"I work with Ten..."

"Ten-sama is also a hunter?" she said the word "hunter" like it was the filthiest word that was ever made.

He still had tears running down his face.
"No.....He works to free them..please dont leave me.."
